The Rockery, Ipswich, Massachusetts

Need a family trip to get back in touch with nature?

The Rockery is the place to be! Located within the Ipswich River Wildlife Sanctuary in Ipswich, Massachusetts.

Our family loves the Rockery - built in 1905 this location is filled with narrow rock and cave like passages all brought in by man and made entirely from imported stone - it overlooks water and is lined with rhododendrons.  It is only a short walk from the parking lot and includes some very scenic views.

The kids will love the wildlife - it is everywhere - just stand or sit still and listen - you'll be surprised at just how many birds you will hear or frogs croaking and splashing.

We brought some bird seed which we placed on our hands - some brave chickadees even stopped by for a quick bite!

Here are some amazing reviews of this one of a kind location, the Ipswich River Wildlife Sanctuary.
