Kids' Favorite Spot Series: Perkins Cove Candies - Ogunquit, Maine

Perkins Cove Candies - Perkins Cove, Ogunquit, Maine

Shop sign in front

New England candy stores, by the ocean,  have a very special appeal all to themselves.  Everything tastes, looks and feels SO much better than buying it from your local grocery store.

As a kid, I would get a dollar while on vacation - I would run to the local penny candy store and fill that bag to the brim! Those were the days!

You can still do this in Ogunquit at Perkins Cove Candies! Ogunquit is a gorgeous seaside town.  Make it a spot to visit this summer - Just an hour and half north of Boston.

Old school candy abounds - Remember these 'flying saucer' candies and Candy Buttons?

The interior is jammed with goodies - the entire wall area is loaded with penny candy selections.

Lobster Pops are a must have when visiting the New England Coast

Salt Water Taffy is where it's AT.  It's an acquired taste, but oh, so yummy.

TIP: I was married on a very hot and sticky day -  I had assortments of taffy candies on each table.  Guests still tell me what a great idea it was! Candy shops love when you buy from them in bulk for such occasions! BUY LOCAL.

I love these pails for gathering up your candy selection! Too fun!

There you have it! A very cool candy shop right in the heart of Perkins Cove, Ogunquit, Maine! Tell us about your favorite candy store! We would love to know about it!
