Boston Tragedy - Mr. Rogers Can Help

Mr. Rogers Can Help

Today, as I woke up 40 minutes from Boston, I was immediately smiling that for one, it was a day off - Patriots Day and my husband was taking the day off to go hiking with us to Maine.  Then, I thought of my friends running in the Boston Marathon, and sent them my happy thoughts in hoping that they would have enough water, enough support and enough training to get them to the finishline.

Lots of people woke up this morning in the Boston area anxious for the Marathon, and excited to see these fabulous athletes accomplishing a huge goal on behalf of amazing organizations world wide.

The end of the race was dedicated to the Newtown students.  All of them.  To remember them and honor them.

Then, around 2 pm everything CHANGED.

My hometown became a war zone.  People died, a child died.  Many people are fighting for their lives this very minute.  The town is in mourning.  Virtually everything is closed.

But when you see the photos, the videos you see people HELPING those in need.  It compelled me to find this piece from Mr. Rogers below.  Please view it and share your thoughts with your youngsters.  They need our support.

Many of our children have NO recollection of 9/11 - this is theirs. This is there time to see the world in a different way.  We need to support them, guide them and offer them a shoulder to cry on, answer their tough questions and LOVE THEM.
