LEGOLAND Discovery Center Boston

LEGOLAND Discovery Center is Coming May 2014
Yes, that's right, LEGOLAND Discovery Center Boston is coming to New England!  Mom's Lifesavers was there for the groundbreaking ceremony at the beautiful  Assembly Row, Somerville, Massachusetts.

We were thrilled to be invited to this event and hope Boston is ready for this AMAZING venue for kids!

The groundbreaking ceremony was a sight to see!

A front-end loader dropping 50,000 LEGO bricks at Assembly Row to commemorate construction, was attended by Massachusetts Senator Patricia Jehlen; James Burleigh, Division Director, Midway Developments, Merlin Entertainments; and Russ Joyner, Vice President, General Manager, Federal Realty Investment Trust.

Check out our video of the dropping of the LEGO bricks - it was awesome!

Mom's Lifesavers Praises the Organizers of This Amazing Event!
The people we met were amazing and everyone was so excited for this new indoor attraction, right in our backyard - perfect for families.  This center is sure to become a Mom's Lifesaver favorite this Spring!

A real treat for us was meeting James Burleigh of Merlin Entertainments.

LEGOLAND Discovery Center is owned and operated by Merlin Entertainments, Europe's biggest and the world's second biggest visitor attractions operator.

Mr. Burleigh chatted with us about how pleased they are with the Somerville location and coming to New England.

We learned so much about what the center will be offering and cannot wait to be able to share more with you as the project progresses. This video shows you a little trick to assemble LEGOs that we learned at the ceremony.

Why is it so special to Boston?

The Boston LEGOLAND Discovery Center will be the sixth to open in the United States and the 11th LEGOLAND Discovery Center to open worldwide.  Assembly Row, a 50+ acre mixed use development will feature outlet shopping, apartments, office space, a movie theater and dedicated T station.

It's an incredible opportunity for New England's kids and families!

From earthquake plates (to test our your tower building skills of course) to seeing a movie in 4D - LEGOLAND Discovery Center Boston even offers a DUPLO village area that features oversized soft play building Bricks for your smaller builders.

We also heard that there will be a CafĂ© in the center of the play space.  Perfect for parents to enjoy a coffee, while their little ones enjoy the Legos!
