I have had a pair of awesome earrings from A Kick in the Glass artists for years! The ocean themed lamp work beads are AMAZING. I met the sisters a few years back at a craft show and they are delightful and fabulous woman. It's so nice to support local artists and these woman deserve your attention! If you know anything about glass and bead making, you know it's no small feat to create these lovely pieces of art.
Beads with Style in Salem, NH will host a trunk show this SATURDAY. These artisan are not everywhere, so when they turn up with their fabulous beads I run to them!
From the website: "Growing up on Cape Cod, sisters, Donna and Faith draw their inspiration from the sea and the natural world around them, sometimes infused with their sense of humor! Working at their torches, Donna and Faith relive their memories of days spent on the beach with their other two sisters and their Mom. Within this process they are able to create tiny treasures fit for jewelry and other decorative items. Donna lives on the coast of Maine, Faith resides in Massachusetts, making Maine her home away from home. Jewelry has always been a big part of their arts and craft world. They were fortunate enough to discover lampworking together about six years ago. Each day in the studio still feels like their first day, and continues to be one of the most fun and rewarding processes in their lives!"
