Need a change of scenery for your night out?
How about trying the Salt Kitchen and Rum Bar located at One Market Street in Ipswich, Massachusetts.
A good friend of mine and I were looking for something different to do for a bite to eat and a drink - she suggested this new place in Ipswich that she heard great things about - what a great tip! The Salt Kitchen and Rum Bar did not disappoint.
We took two seats at the bar and were warmly greeted by Stephanie, our bartender - she was so very welcoming and talked with each of us about what our tastes were and made some great suggestions. I tried the Haymaker - a house favorite made of Privateer Cask rum, muddled lemons, dark molasses, cane syrup & ginger beer - it was wonderful! No wonder it is a favorite.
Now onto the food - wow! We were looking for some lite fare to share - an appetizer or two - we went with these Lobster Wellington Bites - 2 incredible puff pastries loaded with fresh lobster, grilled corn and brie cheese - we each had one - perfect for sharing & very filling! We also sampled the Crispy Pork Tacos, which had pork belly, caramelized onion, chipotle crema, pico de gallo and salsa verde - 3 generous tacos - also a great choice for sharing.
So there you have it - an incredible atmosphere, friendly staff, original drinks and appetizers - we're getting together there again soon. Hope to see you there!
