Time to Get Your Game On!

American Classic Arcade Museum (ACAM) of Laconia, New Hampshire

So you and the family are heading to the mountains for some skiing - why not take a trip back in time, all the way back to the 80's! A trip to the American Classic Arcade Museum is just the ticket!

This arcade museum is home to over 250 playable games - here is the link to the entire active game list - this will take you back!

ACAM is part of FunSpot - The Largest Arcade in the World - including 600 games, bowling, in-door mini golf, cash bingo and a restaurant and tavern. AND an episode of American Restoration was also filmed there for you History Channel fans.

For hours and possible snow cancellations - stay connected with ACAM here.

The following is my original post from March of 2013 - we can't wait to go back - we'll see you there!

My son is already exhibiting signs at age 11 of a techno-lifestyle – not something that I am as excited about – that is until I need tech support!

Whether it is access to a laptop, the iPad or the Xbox – he has a real knack for it – it seems intuitive to him – from downloading software to installing the latest updates – he is on it.

My husband and I love keeping him engaged and interested and decided that this new found love for all things that beep, buzz and blink needed a field trip!

What an adventure –with over 250 playable games, we were able to share with our son the games we grew up on during visits to beach side arcade or a pinball machine at a local pizza place. It gave us the opportunity to talk about changes in technology – even over such a short period of time – the past 25 years.

From the classics like Pong, Tempest and Frogger to today’s hits – it is all under one roof. It was great family time and fun for all – at the same time it gave us the opportunity to talk about where technology is coming from and where it is going – maybe my son will help take us there!
